Working with eVSM on a shared drive, such as SharePoint, OneDrive, Dropbox, or iCloud, is not supported. While some functions may appear to work, others may not perform reliably. Shared drives often require additional permissions, performance depends on network traffic, and file open/save times are usually longer. There is also a greater risk of file corruption or other unexpected behavior.
If your map files are normally stored on a shared drive, please make a local copy before editing, then upload the updated file back to the shared location when you are finished.
Value stream mapping gives manufacturing enterprises
Anyone who has worked in operations, whether in manufacturing or service processes, knows this fu
When discussing Value Stream Mapping (VSM), it’s easy to view the tool as a methodological exercise that can be conducted from behind a screen, relying on data from ERP or MES systems, or theoretical cycle times from manufactur
When production falls behind or capacity feels maxed out, the first reaction in many manufacturing environments is to look outward: Should we invest in another machine? Hire more operators? Expand the line?
Value stream mapping has long been a cornerstone of Lean. It’s how organizations identify waste, improve flow, and align cross-functional teams around what really matters.
If you're a small or mid-sized manufacturer, you're probably under pressure to deliver more with fewer resources.
