eA3™ add-on for eVSM

eA3 is an add-on to the eVSM (electronic value stream mapping) software and is designed to support the A3 Report structured problem-solving methodology originally from Toyota and now adapted for widespread usage in manufacturing, services and healthcare process improvement efforts. The A3 Report methodology is a great complement to the VSM because the VSM map can help identify problems with the value stream and the A3 Report methodology provides a structured way of solving the problems.

With eVSM and its integrated eA3 capability you can:

  • Draw and Analyze the value stream map to identify problem areas
  • Associate A3 Reports with problems
  • Create A3 Reports with the same visual iconic language used in the VSM
  • Connect metrics on multiple A3 Report's with metrics on the VSM map to provide "roll-up" and "drill-down" capability
  • Visualize A3 Report metrics with the same visual gadgets available in eVSM

With eVSM you can draw a value stream map and analyze it to identify problems. Note the use of the Visual gadgets to show flow magnitudes and the use of Kaizen bursts and clouds to denote problems and potential solutions.
The A3 Report methodology can be used to solve value stream problems in a structured way. There would typically be multiple A3 Reports for each VSM. eA3 is integrated with eVSM with a common visual icon set
